Project
Preparation |
|
The Project Preparation phase is complete.
In this phase:
- The Project transitioned from a procurement effort to an implementation effort which kicked-off in June 2006.
- There was a large recruitment effort and the state and BearingPoint (the system integrator) staffed positions to form the 21st Century Project Team.

Business
Process
Blueprint |
|
The Business Process Blueprint Phase is complete. In this phase, the project
team:
- Assessed the State’s business, infrastructure,
interface, and conversion needs
- Performed a fit/gap analysis
to identify and resolve any functionality
gaps
- Conducted sessions with
stakeholders to
identifiy and validate the State’s current and future business processes
- Documented the organization required to support
the new processes

Design
|
|
During the Design Phase:
- Preparing to initiate departments' deployment activities.
- Gathering additional information from departments to refine business processes, design and configuration.
- Resolving gaps in business process and design identified in the Business Blueprint.
- Developing more detailed design requirements, based on gap resolution and additional information gathered from departments.

Realization
|
|
During the Realization Phase:
- The SAP software will be configured and customized to meet the State's
business requirements based on the blueprint documentation.
- Interfaces and conversion programs will be built
and testing will be conducted
to validate the entire business system.
- Training
plans, training materials, and the implementation
strategy will be finalized.

| Final Preparation
|
|
During the Final Preparation Phase:
- Support will be provided to department staff assigned to the deployment process in preparation for Go-Live.
- Instructor-led training will be provided to key staff working with the system.
- Training information and instruction materials will be implemented for all levels of system users.
- Human Resources data will be loaded into the system.
- The project team will work with end users to test the system.

Go-Live and
Support |
|
During Go-Live and Support:
- The project team will provide departments with post-implementation support.
- Opportunities will be identified for continuous improvement through training evaluations and hands-on deployment experience
